
Analyst Consultant – Water (Environmental)

- Fieldwork support for aquatic, terrestrial and ground environmental surveys
- Data collection through site surveys and monitoring programmes.
- Data processing, analysis, interpretation and visualisation using Excel and GIS.
- Desk studies, literature reviews, option appraisals, impact assessment and reporting.
- Project co-ordination and management.
- Bachelors (2.1 or above) and ideally a post graduate degree in a relevant subject.
- Understanding environmental sciences and/or water quality.
- Thorough experience of using Excel and GIS packages (such as ArcGIS and QGIS).
- Experience of reviewing and interpreting datasets, with excellent analytical skills.
- Effective report writing skills.
- Ability to fault find and problem solve in challenging environments.
- Effective time management skills.
- Willingness to learn from contributing to a broad range of fieldwork and office-based tasks.
- A full UK driver’s licence.
- Strong desire to work outside and complete sometimes physically challenging tasks.
- Excellent team working.
- A good degree of physical fitness.
- Strong problem solving skills and mental fortitude.
- Ambitious, enthusiastic and self-motivated to thrive in this busy and demanding environment.
- Strong communication skills and a close attention to detail.
- Keenness to learn and be able to act quickly and flexibly across projects.
- Excellent report writing.
- Good IT skills commonly used software, e.g. Microsoft Office, internet, email and GIS.
- Self-organized with ability to manage own workload effectively.
- Previous consultancy, regulator or water company experience (not essential).
- Chemistry, water quality or hydrogeology background.
- Water safety training.
- Client facing experience.
