Maternity Services are provided over 3 sites and we are able to offer women and staff the 4 birthing environment, home, freestanding birth centre, alongside birth centre and obstetric labour ward.The environment in the Prince Charles Site level 2 has undergone major refurbishment in 2019. We offer care to women in our obstetric unit and we have an alongside midwifery led unit. We have increased the number of pools to 3 and are able to offer in addition a bereavement room and generally an enhanced environment for both women and staff.Main duties of the jobAt the Royal Glamorgan Hospital we have a free standing midwifery led unit offering women and staff the opportunity to birth in a home away from home in a tranquil and supportive environmentPrincess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend is a Level 2 Maternity Unit. We are able to offer low risk women the opportunity to labour and birth in our alongside Midwifery Led room, the Bluebell Suite and in our newly refurbished Birthing Pool room on the obstetric unit. Our Obstetric services support women requiring increased surveillance during labour.In addition, Midwives working within Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in working in all the units and community but would like to reassure applicants wherever possible we will accommodate their first choice of base. All contracts of employment are Health Board wide.Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable.
