The role will report to the Director, Technical Accounting, Finance Governance and Compliance.The role's responsibilities would include the following:Accounting policy alignment, documentation and maintenanceAccounting treatment assessment and memorandum documentation & reviewNew accounting standards adoption including ESGCoordination of "deals desk" to capture all unusual significant contracts subject to accounting treatment assessmentSupport M&A activity from technical accounting assessment perspective including review of contract draftsEstablishment of cross functional business team relationships to understand relevant factual details relevant to accounting assessment mattersWorking closely with local and group external auditors as part of accounting treatment assessment memorandum reviewsReview and assessment of assumptions used as part of estimationsServe as main accounting contact related to legal mattersSupport FP&A and planning teams in determining forecast / budget impact from accounting treatment perspectiveExecution of SOX controls relevant to Technical Accounting activitiesAddress ad-hoc accounting treatment questions from accounting, business planners and forecasting teamsEstablishment of training curriculum for accounting teams and establishment of knowledge baseThe following qualifications, experience and personal attributes are required:Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance or related field.Active CPA or equivalent licenseManager level public accounting experience8 - 12 years of progressive experience in Technical Accounting either with Big 4 technical accounting advisory or in practiceExtensive experience in interpreting IFRS and USGAAP (and or UKGAAP) accounting standards and applying it to unique real-world business fact patternsPrevious experience with retail, SaaS, software, entertainment and or technology companiesESG regulatory framework experienceExperience with managing and driving projects working with cross functional teamsStrong communication and interpersonal skills.
