- Establish and maintain effective relationship with Legal department to ensure alignment to all relevant HS&E legislations.
- Define, develop and maintain Safe Systems of Work.
- Drive the creation of HS&E risk assessments for all activities on all sites.
- Consult, coach and support on HS&E operational issues and utilise risk assessments to effectively reduce and mitigate HS&E risks.
- Maintain regulatory permits and facilitate Statutory Inspections.
- Ensure adequate HS&E records are being generated and effectively maintained.
- Support the preparations and management of the site emergency planning arrangements.
- Review and update and develop all Company HS&E policies and procedures for further development and improvement to ensure best practice approaches.
- Develop and establish objective and transparent HS&E reports that demonstrate business performance against policies and procedures.
- Lead and carry out incident/accidents/near-miss's investigations as necessary.
- Liaise and coordinate internal stakeholders to drive their compliance to HS&E policies and procedures.
- Conduct workplace inspections and assessments to ensure behaviours and practices in line with company HS&E policies and procedures (SOT's).
- Generate, promote and maintain a positive health, safety and environmental culture and compliance to company HS&E policies.
- Lead wellbeing initiatives and contribute to a psychologically safe work culture.
- Previous experience in a leading HS&E role
- Minimum of a NEBOSH Diploma or similar H&S Qualification.
- Previous HS&E experience / proven background in an industrial, process driven setting is essential.
- Working knowledge of ISO14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 45000 and Environmental Permitting.
- Knowledge and understanding of HS&E legislations and any technologies that affect the Company's operations and undertakings.
- Previous experience in conducting HS&E type assessments/audits.
- Experience with digital HSE systems or platforms.
- Experience supporting ESG or sustainability initiatives.
- Previous experience in Integrated Management Systems and processes is beneficial.
- Experience of stakeholder coordination and management.
- Negotiation and conflict resolution skills are beneficial.
- Experience of using SAP is advantageous.
- Proficient in Power BI is advantageous.
- University degree is preferred but not essential.
