Digital & Technology Services provide IT services and facilities for the University of Dundee across all campuses. The directorate is split into four delivery departments: Security Infrastructure & Research Computing, Business Services, End User Services and Directors Office. The directorate provides services ranging from the provision of the university core network & datacentres through to client devices and provision of corporate software systems.We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as an Implementation and Support Specialist within Digital Workspace, in Digital & Technology Services. This is a permanent appointment.Reporting to the Implementation and Support Manager, the role holder will work on the implementation and support of Digital Workspace solutions, and with our key internal partners, working effectively with various stakeholders to realise the One Dundee approach.Digital & Technology Services are currently undertaking a significant multi-year investment in new & improved services across the university. As part of this we are expanding our team and are looking for outstanding candidates to join us. You will be joining a team which is at the centre of the next stage of the university's growth.Your priorities will include:
  • Liaise with clients/users to clarify details of requirements. Designs, creates and tests moderately complex, well-engineered information deliverables with specified content and layout. Manages the configuration of documentation items and files, within own area of responsibility.
  • Translate requests and develop implementable solutions using standard service offerings from the Product Engineering Team, and then provision them into the day-to-day environment.
  • Provide early life and 2nd line support for projects and services delivered by Digital Workspace.
  • Deliver services and integrate 3rd party products using a range of technical skills including Windows, Linux, Virtualisation, Directories, SharePoint, M365 components, etc. to a range of platforms including Windows, Apple desktops and where appropriate mobile devices.
  • Create appropriate technical documentation to the required standards and drive appropriate knowledge management.
