To provide flexible, comprehensive, responsible and accurate administrative, clerical and general secretarial services. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for the department, greeting all patients/relatives/visitors and staff. Ensuring that the reception area runs smoothly, provides a high level of service to patients, doctors, nurses and other members of the team. The role will require constant awareness of the work and key priorities of the division, dealing with highly confidential and sensitive information. To provide a front line information service, offering non clinical information, advice and guidance to members of the public, colleagues from external agencies.Main duties of the job
  • Meeting & greeting face to face patients
  • Pre-admitting, admitting & discharging patients in a timely manner.
  • Sorting the incoming and outgoing post
  • Answering the telephone - answering queries from all areas.
  • Occasional flexibility in working hours may be required. Including cross site cover if needed.
  • Raise maintenance requisitions via the Trust online system.
  • Filing patients notes and liaising with medical records
  • Liaising in a multidisciplinary team to resolve any arising problems
