Lead Data Platform Engineer

- Building highly scalable and available systems used by Data and Software Engineers, capable of efficiently serving hundreds/thousands of API calls simultaneously
- Being responsible for the conception, design, development, and deployment of data architecture
- Providing leadership for the architectural direction (ensuring system integrity), and provide consultation to agile teams
- Encouraging the adoption of an organization's frameworks by providing documentation, training, sample code, and developer support
- Implementing Software Development Kits (SDKs) and APIs at scale using Java, Python, or other Object Oriented Programming languages
- Experience building scalable systems with Java and Python within data
- A particular focus or interest in building APIs (we use Trino and Kong)
- Solid understanding of the infrastructure set-up behind a scalable data platform and the software engineering design patterns to build it
- Experience with AWS as a cloud environment and associated tools (EKS, EMR, Redshift, Postgres)
- Experience, or interest in orchestration and processing methods of large workloads using distributed data systems such as Airflow, Spark, Hadoop, and Trino
- Experience, or interest in processing real-time streaming workloads with distributed event systems such as Kafka, Kinesis, Google PubSub, Flink, or Spark Streaming
