We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Needs (SEN) Teacher to join a specialist school in West Yorkshire that supports children and young people with a range of complex learning needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students who require tailored educational approaches and emotional support.Key Responsibilities:
Plan, deliver, and adapt lessons to meet the individual needs of pupils with SEN, including autism, ADHD, moderate to severe learning difficulties, and other additional needsCreate a safe, stimulating, and supportive learning environmentCollaborate with SENCOs, teaching assistants, therapists, and parents/carers to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs)Use a range of communication strategies and learning aids to support pupil progressMonitor and assess student progress regularly, maintaining accurate recordsPromote positive behaviour strategies and contribute to behaviour support plansEngage in ongoing professional development and contribute to the wider school communityRequirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalentExperience working in a SEN setting or with children with additional needsStrong understanding of safeguarding and inclusive teaching practicesExcellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skillsPatience, resilience and a nurturing approach to teachingDesirable:
Additional qualifications in SEN or relevant training (e.g., Team Teach, PECS, Makaton, etc.)Experience in supporting students with EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans)Benefits:
