Hours: Full-Time / Part-TimeWe are seeking a skilled and compassionate Band 6 Mammographer to join the West of Scotland Breast Screening Service. Offering the flexibility of full-time or part-time hours and a competitive rate of £35.00 per hour, this role allows you to balance your professional ambitions with your personal life.Perks and Benefits:Flexible Hours: Choose full-time or part-time to suit your lifestyle.Diverse Work Settings: Gain experience across both mobile screening units and static centres.Specialist Exposure: Engage in specialised x-ray procedures and interventional radiological techniques.Ongoing Development: Access mentorship and support to enhance your professional growth.Meaningful Impact: Play a pivotal role in breast cancer detection and women’s healthcare.What You Will Do:Provide high-quality mammography screening for women attending the West of Scotland Breast Screening Service.Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver a full diagnostic service for breast cancer detection.Participate in the National Quality Assurance Programme to maintain and improve service standards.Support colleagues by sharing expertise and mentoring junior staff.Promote health awareness and contribute to the continuous improvement of screening services.Key Responsibilities:Perform mammography screening at both mobile and static centres.At the static site, conduct specialised x-ray procedures and assist with interventional radiology during review clinics.Supervise and mentor less experienced staff, post-graduate trainees, and assistant practitioners.Operate within HCPC regulations and organisational policies relating to governance, quality assurance, confidentiality, and safety.Qualifications and Requirements:Postgraduate Certificate in Mammography.HCPC registration.Experience within the UK breast screening programme.A valid UK driving licence is advantageous for travel to screening locations.Why Glasgow?Glasgow is a city full of life, culture, and community.
