An exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing, innovation-led SME that designs and manufactures high-quality scientific equipment. This hands-on role supports low-volume, electro-mechanical batch production, ensuring quality, efficiency, and cross-functional collaboration. Ideal for a practical, solutions-focused engineer with experience in small-batch or complex assembly environments.Key Responsibilities:
  • Optimise manufacturing processes to improve cost, quality, and efficiency.
  • Support daily production-resolve build and quality issues swiftly.
  • Lead process development and testing for new product introductions (NPI).
  • Maintain documentation, tools, and calibration of production equipment.
  • Ensure ISO 9001 and QMS compliance; support COSHH and electrical safety.
  • Investigate and resolve non-conformances with root cause analysis.
  • Mentor junior engineers and production teams on process and quality standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement and contribute to design-for-manufacture efforts.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • Degree-qualified in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 3+ years' experience in low-volume, electro-mechanical manufacturing.
  • Background in scientific, medical, or regulated products preferred.
  • Familiar with CE marking; US regulatory knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong communicator with proven cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Practical, hands-on approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Experience mentoring or leading small teams or engineers.
