You'll have the opportunity to influence data architecture design, collaborate with the team to build a modern Data Warehouse stack, and have regular knowledge-sharing and learning opportunities.You'll also be collaborating with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and optimise data structures, providing accurate and efficient insights into Tandem's data.Your Impact: Building a greener tomorrowAs a Data Modeller at Tandem your focus will be on:
- Design and implement dimensional and relational data models for business intelligence and analytics use cases
- Create and maintain data documentation, including entity-relationship diagrams and data dictionaries
- Develop and implement data quality controls and validation procedures
- Support the optimisation of data pipelines for data transformation processes
- Participate in code reviews and maintain modelling best practices
- Data Modelling
- Investigates enterprise data requirements where there is some complexity and ambiguity.
- Plans data modelling and design activities, selecting appropriate techniques and levels of detail to meet objectives.
- Provides advice and guidance to others using the data structures and associated components. Data Engineering (DENG 3)
- Database design
- Interprets installation standards to meet project needs and produces database or data warehouse component specifications.
- Develops physical database or data warehouse design elements, within set policies, to meet data requirements.
- Data management
- Implements standard data management practices based on detailed organisational requirements.
- Monitors and maintains data quality through regular reviews and validation checks.
- Communicates the details of data management procedures to others, helping with their understanding and compliance.
- Business intelligence
- Supports business intelligence needs of specific management or governance processes or operational areas.
- Investigates the need for business intelligence reporting and analysis where there is some complexity and ambiguity.
- Selects and applies non-standard business intelligence tools and techniques to provide insights and aid decision-making. Selects, acquires and integrates data for analysis and verifies the data's quality and integrity.
- Identifies opportunities to digitise and streamline operational data handling and optimise business intelligence capabilities.
- Github:
- Proficient with GitHub for version control and collaboration
- DBT:
- Experience with DBT for data transformation and modelling
- Mage.ai:
- Working knowledge of Mage.ai for data pipeline development
- Database Systems:
- Timescale db
- PostgreSQL
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server
- Power BI:
- Proficiency in Power BI for semantic modelling and reporting
- ETL/ELT processes
- Data quality and validation methodologies
- Task management in JIRA
- Documentation in Confluence and Miro
- Familiarity with JetBrains IDEs, particularly DataSpell
