This is a unique opportunity to engage with a diverse range of projects and contribute significantly to shaping the new business line. The team operates in a dynamic and fast-paced environment where everyone's input is crucial. Given the early stage of the function, individuals have a substantial influence on the business and team, regardless of their seniority or experience.Reporting to a Partner within the function, this role focuses on project delivery. The Regulatory Consulting Senior Analyst will support and deliver assigned client work elements, assist with technical research, and produce technical materials. Additionally, you will contribute to the team's development and growth while meeting team utilisation targets.As Regulatory Consulting Senior Analyst, your responsibilities will include among others
  • Carrying out assigned tasks on specified client project work
  • Drafting and maintaining policies, procedures and compliance monitoring programmes
  • Developing training materials
  • Delivering training to clients
  • Assisting with regulatory matters including authorisation applications and variations of permissions
  • Undertaking file reviews and detailed testing in accordance with regulatory health checks and assurance related work
  • Researching regulatory issues and topics to enable the wider team to respond to ad-hoc and routine regulatory queries
  • Continually develop basic knowledge on assigned topic areas to prepare for specific pieces of work
  • Ensuring all client records are of a good standard and stored electronically as appropriate
  • Adhere to the team’s quality standards prior to submitting work to internal colleagues
  • Research solutions to problems / issues on cases / projects to develop your own technical knowledge
  • Keep abreast of regulatory developments and understand how client activities may be impacted
  • Work flexibly in adjusting to changes in priority of workload, with client delivery and deadlines always met, unless agreed otherwise with client and / or project lead
  • Participating in original thought leadership
QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you should
  • Regulatory consulting experience, OR
  • Proven regulatory-related experience gained at a financial services institution, legal practice, consultancy or the regulator
  • Professionally qualified in regulation to Level 4 or equivalent or studying towards it
  • A good general understanding and applied experience of FCA rules and regulations
  • A particular interest in developing knowledge of governance requirements and conduct issues affecting anyone of the following sectors: wealth, banking, insurance, pensions, consumer lending or other regulated sub-sectors
  • Competent using the main MS Office packages: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise multiple projects and engagements while meeting tight deadlines
  • Formal Project Management experience would also be desirable
  • Highly motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Detail oriented, with the ability to quickly and effectively analyse and summarise complex information into a concise and readable assessment
  • Willing to be hands-on and to tackle matters outside main areas of expertise
