- Quality Management Systems (QMS): Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems in accordance with ISO 9001, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, ASME NQA-1, CSA N299, and other relevant nuclear standards.
- Compliance and Auditing: Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards, including nuclear regulatory bodies (e.g., NRC, ONR, IAEA).
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain quality assurance documentation, including quality plans, inspection and test plans, and audit reports.
- Supplier Quality Management: Evaluate and monitor suppliers and contractors to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the quality systems and contribute to process optimisation initiatives.
- Risk Management: Support risk assessments and the development of mitigation strategies related to quality and safety.
- Incident Investigation: Support root cause analysis and corrective action processes for quality-related incidents.
- Training and Development: Provide training to staff and contractors on quality standards, processes, and best practices.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of nuclear industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Problem Solving: Proactive approach to identifying and resolving quality-related challenges.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse complex quality issues and develop practical solutions.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in documentation and process assessments.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex quality issues clearly.
- Compliance audit scores.
- Effectiveness of QMS.
- Timeliness of quality documentation and reporting.
- Number of quality related incidents and corrective actions taken.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Certifications: Quality Management certification (e.g., ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, ASME NQA-1) is desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in quality systems within the nuclear or a highly regulated industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in quality management software and tools, as well as MS Office applications.
