The post is for a Speciality Doctor in Teesside Urgent Care Services to support an in-patient consultant and a crisis service consultant.The service commitments to each part of the hybrid post will be capped by assigning specific days to each of the two parts of the service.The post holder would primarily work with the Teesside Urgent Crisis service and would be based at Roseberry Park Hospital split between the South Tees Crisis team base and an acute AMH ward. The post holder will work closely with his/her counterpart for the North of Tees Urgent Care Service and there is an expectation that the post holder would demonstrate the flexibility of working with the North of Tees Urgent Care Service as and when a need arises in those teams, on a reciprocal basis. The post also covers the Crisis Assessment Suite (CAS) based at Roseberry Park Hospital; this work is shared with the Consultant for North of Tees Urgent Care Service (work is divided based on GP registration/address of service user from North or South of Tees).Main duties of the jobAssessing acutely unwell patients who have been referred to crisis or admitted to the acute hospital with a flexible allocation but generally only one clinical location and feedback to Consultant.To review treatment plans in communication with the ConsultantAttend a team daily huddle which is where patients are discussed.Support the team on a day to day basis and review patients as and when necessary.Make timely clinical entries on the electronic record system and send GP letters in a timely manner.Liaise with Community and Inpatients teams and Consultants and also local GPs.Provide appropriate supervision to Junior Medical Staff and Nurse prescribers in the team.Provide leadership to the multi-disciplinary team including membership of the supercellContribution to business planning directorate and Trust wideContribution to service development directorate and Trust wideContribution to clinical governance and responsibility for setting and maintaining standards directorate and Trust wideCommitment to quality improvement directorate and Trust wideAbout usWe are one of the largest specialist mental health and learning disabilities trusts in the country, with an annual income of £320m and a workforce of some 6,700 staff operating from around 100 sites in Durham, Teesside, North Yorkshire and York and Selby.
