Position: Configuration Managerlocation: PortsmouthPay Rate: £41.00 p/h inside IR35.Work Pattern: HybridRole Type: 12 Month contract with ExtensionWe are seeking a skilled Configuration Manager to join our Configuration and Data Management (CADM) team, supporting high-profile defence and aerospace projects. You'll ensure robust configuration control, data integrity, and compliance with company guidelines and CM best practices.In this role, you'll manage the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tool/Configuration Management Database (CMDB), support internal teams with document/data control, and liaise with external stakeholders to ensure alignment and traceability. You'll lead CM activities-identification, change control, audits, and status accounting-and create critical CM plans and reports. You'll also run Change Control Boards (CCBs), manage BoMs and product structures, and support continuous process/tool improvement.Essential:
  • 5+ years in Configuration Management
  • Strong knowledge of CM principles (CI, baselines, change control, auditing)
  • Experience with PLM/PDM tools (e.g. Windchill, Teamcenter)
  • Proficient in MS Office and data/document handling
  • Degree, HNC, NVQ Level 5+ or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder liaison skills
Desirable:
  • CMII certification
  • Experience in sensitive data environments or customer-facing CM roles
