Job Description:The Operations Manager will oversee all building and training-related activities for the Bristow Rescue Hoist Training Centre, ensuring it is available for use by UK SAR, Ireland SAR, Netherlands SAR and other Bristow Group SAR and Government Services training requirements as directed. They will be responsible for ensuring the facility usage is maximised by scheduling a training program to comply with AOC user requirements. They will be responsible for ensuring the facilities are safe, compliant and fully operational. The Operations manager will also be responsible for managing contractors and third-party vendors, while in the training centre. They will understand SAR operations, such that they can assist and advise on making the best use of the facility. The ideal candidate will be multi-skilled who can balance managing staff, running a training facility, managing a complex training programme and have good people skills.Principle Responsibilities:Oversight of the training facility preventative maintenance, coordinating repairs, contractors and subcontractors ensuring that statutory testing and maintenance is undertaken and that all necessary certification and records are maintained on site.Strategic overview of the course programming to manage complex and competing training priorities, taking into account the impact on building occupants, staff and visitors and to minimise disruption to key areas of training delivery.Review and manage training schedules.Order, maintain and use capital equipment effectively.Responsible for building and grounds maintenance, ensuring all facilities, including all equipment in the facilities, are maintained in operating condition to meet codes and standards.Look to identify and implement training synergies (where possible) for all AOC’s to ensure the most cost-effective use of the training facility is implemented and actively reviewed to ensure we remain competitive.Standardize costs and vendors across all locations with regular contract review dates. Develop and implement strategic plans for projects in a cost-effective and time-efficient manner.Ensure that any company owned vehicles are DVLA compliant and maintained in a safe operating conditionOversee space management, optimising layouts and address space needsWork with all applicable agencies, with regards to regulations, codes and standardsLiaising with local contractors, ensuring quality of work. Schedule any necessary employee or vendor work in ways that result in minimal impact on operationsResponsible for directing, coordinating and planning essential central services such as security, maintenance, waste disposal and recyclingManaging and maximising classroom and RHT module usage, including maintaining an up to date course plan detailing all bookingsAct as liaison with clients / 3rd parties (such as Police and MoD) to maximise usage of the facility and have oversight of 3rd party provider training courses to ensure maximum usage of the training facility.Immediately respond and appropriately resolve urgent issues or emergency situations as they ariseEnsure that staff and contractors have satisfactorily completed work or projects, and follow-up on any deficienciesPromote the Company safety culture at all times ensuring the safety and well-being of all stakeholders within the CompanySupervising and managing training centre personnel, including training, and performance evaluationPerform other duties as assigned or requiredPerson SpecificationQualificationsSAR TC management or senior training role and/or BSc/BA in management, aviation or business administrationA previous SAR TC attestation would be advantageousProficiency in English spoken and written at level C1-C2Crane operator certificate would be desirableExperienceProven hands-on experience in a SAR management or other relevant positionProven hands-on experience of managing complex changing rosters and training programmesWell-versed in SAR operations, SAR training and best practicesExperience of multiple SAR platforms would be desirable.Experience in developing, documenting and implementing clear procedures and safe schemes of work.Proven experience in leadership and management of a team is essential.Skills and KnowledgeMust have the ability to manage projects, set goals and analyse results to identify where improvements and new processes are neededMust be able to manage multiple course programmes efficiently, coordinates common resources and fosters a collaborative work environmentMust be decision maker confident to take ownership and accountability.Must have procedural focus, awareness and a strong attention to detail.Should be a logical clear thinker, able to interpret, analyse and act effectively on information availableExcellent communication & presentation skillsProven planning skills with demonstrable ability to manage rapid change to plan with minimal impact to the operationsProven people management skillsProven integrity and an ability to foster trust is essentialBroad business and commercial understanding is essential as is the ability to apply the knowledge to achieve the service and financial goals.Ability to prioritise effectively.Proven ability to work independentlyLegislative / regulatory understanding is keyIT (Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) and administrative SkillsEqual Opportunities: Bristow Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer, all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran/ex-military status.Military-Friendly: As a Military-Friendly employer, we are dedicated to providing meaningful employment opportunities for military veterans.
