Sanctuary Personnel is currently looking for an experienced Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) to take on a new ongoing contract role within the Adults Community Mental Health Team.Location: ShipleyPay Rate: £26 per hour (assignment rate)Contract Type: Locum, 6-month contract/ongoing block booking.Working hours: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week (hours flexible between 8am and 8pm). Part time will be considered.Main Duties:
  • To manage a caseload of clients in the community
  • To input data in the clinical information system: e.g. including risk assessments, care plans, CPA, crisis and contingency plans
  • To administer intra-muscular medication and monitoring treatment plans
  • To work as a part of duty service on the single point of access triaging referrals
  • To supervise and mentor student nurses
  • To demonstrate effective networking skills and ensure a holistic approach to meet service user needs.
  • To work to ensure the safety and wellbeing of service users and their families
  • To work in partnership with service users and carers to achieve goals and to support recovery and reintegration within communities
  • To provide appropriate feedback and liaison with MDT on all aspects of service user care.
  • To ensure that agreed standards of nursing care within the team are achieved.
  • To actively participate in the flexible formats of team supervision and support.
  • To initiate, develop and assist in the trial of new ideas for the improvement of services to service users in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team.
  • To ensure that nursing policies are implemented and maintained
  • To comply with legal and professional requirements
  • To have ability to suggest and critically explore new concepts
  • To have ability to work in a supported autonomous manner within the team
  • To have ability to plan and prioritise workload
  • To have ability to identify, facilitate and support developments and initiatives within the service delivery of nursing and multi-disciplinary team
  • To work within a fully integrated and jointly managed Community Mental Health Team alongside Local Authority social care staff and managers
  • To assess and provide social care services to service users within the Care Programme Approach and in line with the integrated operational policies.
Requirements of the Community Psychiatric Nurse:
  • Degree or equivalent in Mental Health Nursing
  • Experience working as a Mental Health Nurse
  • NMC Registration
