Assets are managed via a broad mandate to trade in a variety of global markets and instruments.About the Role:The Senior AWS engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure and applications within our AWS cloud environments. The successful candidate will possess advanced knowledge of AWS services and architecture, enabling them to create scalable, secure, and efficient cloud-based solutions.The ideal candidate must be able work well in a global team and within a busy environment. The candidate will play a critical role in the technology department, contributing to the overall operational efficiency, reliability, and security of our AWS infrastructure.Responsibilities:
  • Designing robust, scalable, and secure cloud-based solutions using AWS services.
  • Select the appropriate AWS services to meet the firm’s requirements and business goals.
  • Deploying, managing, and operating scalable and highly available systems on AWS.
  • Ensuring the security of our AWS infrastructure by implementing and managing security policies and IAM roles.
  • Monitoring and optimizing system performance, including cost management, performance tuning, and using AWS services effectively to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Review existing AWS Infrastructure to ensure it meets best practices.
  • Developing and implementing disaster recovery plans, including data backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Staying updated with the latest AWS features and services, cloud computing technologies, and recognized best practices.
  • Provide AWS mentoring to other team members and contribute to the development of cloud policies and governance.
  • Collaborating with teams across the firm to ensure cloud solutions align with company policies, technical requirements, and business objectives.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an AWS Engineer or in a similar role
  • Extensive experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, CloudWatch etc
  • Proven ability to architect and implement AWS solutions based on customer requirements and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking and security principles and technologies, including IAM, Security groups, VPCs.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure as code (IaC), using tools like GitLab, AWS CodeDeploy and Terraform.
  • Knowledge of AWS database services (RDS) and storage solutions (S3, EBS, EFS)
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and understanding of programming concepts to automate cloud operations and deployments.
  • Ability to optimize applications and services for performance and cost efficiency in AWS.
  • Strong analytical capability and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrating the ability to manage timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations.
  • A track record of resolving complex technical issues, optimizing systems for performance, and ensuring high levels of availability and security.
  • Advanced certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or other specialized certifications are highly valued.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest technologies and AWS services.
  • Displays and operates at the highest degree of ethics and integrity.
