In our Residential Homes and units, this is a leadership role, working closely with the care team to lead on shifts and manage medication.Senior Care Assistants provide high quality care and support to our residents in a warm and safe environment. Senior Care Assistants play a crucial role in the delivery of care, working with the care team, the role of a Senior Care Assistant is to provide leadership, guidance and hands-on assistance to ensure the residents receive personalised care that meets their individual needs and preferences.Our Senior Care Assistants also provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering meaningful relationships and promoting a sense of compassion; an advocacy for the rights and preferences of our residents.About the roleMain ResponsibilitiesProvide direct care and support to residents with activities of daily living, including personal care and mobility in accordance with individual care plans and resident preferences.Observes and monitors the wellbeing of residents ensuring that any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to senior staff/the primary nurse and documented as appropriate.Monitors and allocates the work for care assistants.Develops and maintains a good professional relationship with residents, colleagues and visitors responding promptly and courteously to requests and enquiries.Responsibility for the administration and management of medication, medication audits and storage in line with regulatory requirements.Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Home Manager.BenefitsPaid annual leaveThe chance to be part of a growing healthcare companyContinuous professional development and trainingValues-led cultureOvertime available at an enhanced rateOpportunities for progressionPension plan (if applicable)Attractive hourly rateAccess NINISCC reimbursed after qualifying periodUniforms and PPE suppliedMonthly incentives and recognition awardsFree parkingWe do not offer sponsorship for this role .This is a Bank- Casual role.Healthcare Ireland are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons.About the companyHealthcare Ireland provides care services in an environment where individuality is emphasised and the privacy and dignity of all our residents is recognised.   • Medications experience within care setting
  • The Right to Work in the UK
  • Educated to a minimum GCSE/NVQ 3 or above (or similar qualification) with a good standard of English
  • Previous Care Experience
