
Multiskilled Engineer (HVAC/Mechanical Bias)

- Perform planned preventative and reactive maintenance across all Mechanical and HVAC systems, including but not limited to heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and water systems
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs within agreed response times, ensuring all work is documented accurately.
- Conduct routine checks and repairs on mechanical installations such as ventilation systems, fan motors, belts, filters, and heating/cooling systems.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with relevant health and safety legislation and company policies (including fire regulations, COSHH, PPE, and safe working practices).
- Maintain and repair installations such as ventilation systems (AHU, intake/extract), heating and cooling systems (thermal wheels, FCUs), and water system assets.
- Collaborate with engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure a proactive approach to maintenance and service delivery.
- Comply with risk management procedures and ensure all documentation is completed accurately and on time.
- Ensure that all equipment, plant rooms, and services are kept clean, safe, and secure.
- Prioritise your workload effectively while assisting other engineers and staff as required.
- Attend to emergency repairs and ensure all reactive calls are closed within the agreed response times.
- Liaise with clients to address concerns and ensure high standards of customer service are maintained.
- Ensure that all assets are maintained in accordance with O&M manuals and contractual obligations.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with industry standards and technologies.
- Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (e.g., C&G Level 3 or Level 5, NVQ, BTEC).
- Multi-skilled engineering experience with a strong focus on HVAC systems.
- Comprehensive knowledge of building services disciplines, including heating, hot water, ventilation, refrigeration, environmental systems, electrical power and distribution, and public health.
- Strong practical experience with building services, including Fan Motors, Belts and Filters, Fan Coil Units (FCUs), AHUs, and other HVAC equipment.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety, Permit to Work procedures, and safe systems of working.
- Good understanding of current building statutory compliance and Health & Safety legislation.
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively at all levels.
- Ability to work proactively and independently with a strong focus on quality service delivery.
- Unvented qualification and experience with hot water/heating systems or experience with chillers, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
- HVAC certification (e.g., C&G 2079 F Gas or equivalent) and/or gas qualifications.
- IOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification.
- C&G 2391/2 18th Edition IEE regulations.
