Lead BuyerCompetitive SalaryMonday - Friday / DaysWrexhamOur client based in the Wrexham area is currently looking for a Lead Buyer to join their team on a permanent basis. As the Lead Buyer you will lead the purchasing team on cost reduction, supplier selection, contract implementation and supplier management.Performance Objectives· Provide an efficient and cost-effective Procurement service for the business, whilst ensuring value for money is achieved.· Local Representative of the Group Purchasing Team responsible for support and implementation of those sourcing categories lead by Central Purchasing into the local Business Unit, aligned with the Global Business Objectives.· Undertake the sourcing of materials and services at the right price, right time, and right quality.· Ensure Company procedures and standards are maintained as well as SOX requirements.· Liaise with suppliers for all aspects of the procurement process; monitor supplier performance ensuring approved suppliers provide the highest level of service.· Identify new suppliers, agree terms, and negotiate supply agreements where appropriate, including discounts and volume rebates.· Contractor evaluation and management skills, understanding of required documentation.· Ensure that all operational procurement activities are being conducted in the most cost-efficient manner to reduce the number of orders being raised and transactions required.· Undertake Supplier Visits proactively and report findings to the Business.· Identify and deliver cost savings across all areas of site spend and benchmark with other client sites.· Deliver targeted cost savings month on month and seek value added solutions with key suppliers.· Awareness of Market forces and Supplier issues communicating effectively to the Business any cost and risk factors.· Lead, develop and motivate the Stores team whilst ensuring delivery of their KPI’s and Accountabilities.Person Specification· Strong and proven negotiation skills.· Experience of managing teams.· Required to work under pressure on a variety of projects and deliver within agreed deadlines.· Excellent Problem solving and analytical skills.· Proven Stakeholder Management Skills and Change Management Skills.· Customer focused.· Strong financial and commercial awareness.· Good presentation skills· Excellent cross functional worker, influencer, and communicator.· Enthusiastic and dynamic with a passion to achieve success.· Ability to work proactively and autonomously, demonstrate initiative and responsiveness.· Flexible within the Business as required, travel as required.· Extensive Microsoft skills and addition to SAP with the ability to produce and present statistical information.· Degree / full or part MCIPS Qualified (Member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply).· Experience of working in a FMCG background would be preferableBenefits· 25 days plus bank holidays.· Personal Pension Scheme· Private Medical Scheme· Cycle to WorkTo apply please call gap personnel Wrexham branch on 01978 366666 alternatively, send your CV togap personnel group is committed to the selection, recruitment and development of the best people, basing judgments solely on suitability for the job.
