Contract Type: Daily Supply, Long-TermAre you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a primary school setting?GSL Education are looking for a caring and committed Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school environment in Blyth. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who require additional support in their learning journey, particularly those with SEN such as Autism, Speech & Language needs, ADHD, or SEMH.Key Responsibilities of the Primary Teaching Assistant (SEN):
- Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual pupil needs.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.
- Use a range of strategies to promote positive behaviour and encourage pupil progress.
- Support pupils' social, emotional and educational development.
- Maintain clear and accurate records of support and progress.
- Liaise with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement personalised learning plans.
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN (preferred).
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient attitude.
- A passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
- Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent are essential.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply through GSL Education).
