This is an opportunity to lead an exciting and dynamic team to support Edinburgh's ambitions to tackle the twin climate and nature crises. As Climate and Nature Strategy Manager, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the delivery of both the Council's and city's ambitions to be a low carbon, climate ready and nature positive city. The role involves working closely with key stakeholders and partners across the city, advising senior leadership and elected members, and engaging with communities on key decisions the council must take to drive forward this ambitious agenda. The role is also responsible for the delivery and reporting of key external and internal facing strategies including but not limited to: 2030 Climate Strategy Climate Ready Edinburgh Plan Council Emissions Reduction Plan We are looking for someone with a wide range of skills, including leadership, excellent communication and engagement skills, an appreciation of political and council landscapes, and an understanding of the risks and challenges of the twin climate and nature emergencies. The post holder will also be expected to support colleagues across the organisation who are working to deliver the Local Heat and Energy Efficiency Strategy, City Mobility Plan, City Plan 2030, Housing Strategy, Regional EV strategy, Edinburgh Biodiversity Action Plan and Edinburgh Nature Network. They will also be expected to input to the just transition agenda which includes poverty and equalities.
