Candidate SpecificationWhat you can offer?
  • Experience in a design related role (ideally within the water industry)
  • ICE-accredited degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Chartered or Incorporated member of the ICE or demonstratable progress made in attaining the ICE attributes.
  • Outline and detailed design experience of water or wastewater projects.
  • Knowledge of the Designer or Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015

Job DescriptionMott Macdonald Bentley (MMB) is the design and build unit of global engineering consultancy Mott Macdonald. We are currently looking to recruit a Civil, Electrical, Mechanical or Process Engineer to work as a Project Leader to help support us in delivering work within our Welsh Water framework.We believe the best engineering projects are delivered by engineers, so we combine the technical Engineer role with some aspects of the traditional Project Manager role into a single, Project Leader role.What does a Project Leader within United Utilities do day to day?
  • Lead the design of water and wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects through the outline and detailed design, construction, commissioning, and handover
  • Undertake design work related to your discipline/area of expertise
  • Coordinate the project team including Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Process designers and ensure designs are completed on programme, within budget, and to the quality defined by each framework and industry specifications
  • Work as part of a “Project triangle” alongside a Site Manager and Quantity Surveyor to ensure that technical, constructability and commercial aspects of project delivery are considered throughout.
  • Build positive relationships with the client project, operational and technical assurance teams and promote a "one-team" approach.
  • Support and mentor less experienced members of the team.
  • Visit sites across your frameworks region as required to develop the design and support the construction delivery of your projects.
