We have 3,300 experts in the UK alone, could joining us be your next career move?Our Building Services division provides complete Facilities Management of properties throughout the UK, providing mechanical and electrical engineering support, cleaning, catering and grounds maintenance on a planned and reactive basis, using technological solutions to manage our teams in the most efficient ways.We are looking for an Electrician to join the team on our Kent County Council project based in West Malling, Kent.The purpose of the role will be to, be Skanska's first line representative over multiple sites and efficiently and effectively carry out planned, breakdown and emergency maintenance of a complete range of electrical services within the estate.To undertake a leading role within the Engineering discipline on one or more specific subjects or work areas. In addition to undertake installation type work as part of new or refurbishment projects.To stand in for the team leader in their absence if required.What you'll do:
  • The maintenance and repair of the complete range of electrical engineering services. This will include, for example, electrical power, plant, electrical distribution systems, motors and control equipment, portable equipment, fixed plant. control panels, sockets, lighting, electrical accessories,
  • To undertake correctly and to a high standard the work associated with PPM (Pre Planned Maintenance) and Reactive Maintenance tasks.
  • To undertake correctly and to a high standard the work associated with an inspection and testing programme both for fixed and mobile/portable equipment, ensuring compliance with the latest edition of the wiring regulations BS7671. Requesting remedial works or emergency isolations as and when required. Issue the appropriate completion certificates.

  • Following engineering and building drawings and specifications, providing satisfactory levels of output linked with high standards or workmanship for complex systems, fully understanding the relationship between m electrical systems.
  • Determine what spares, components or supplies are needed to satisfactorily undertake and complete the work associated with repair, routine servicing and new installations.
  • Complete all record sheets and paperwork associated with routine duties accurately and in good time, or with handheld devices.
  • Undertake fault finding on complex Low Voltage (LV) networks, critical systems and equipment, liaise with Engineering Supervisor regarding plant or equipment failure and to request the supply of goods and services as necessary.
  • To actively monitor the CAFM system to ensure all tasks are assigned within appropriate timescales and potential issues are identified and rectified before incurring failure points.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance inspections and commissioning tests in accordance with legislation and guidance.
  • Observe statutory requirements, but not limited to health and safety, electricity at work regulations, asbestos, legionella and COSHH regulations.
  • To participate in the on-call system
We're looking for:
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
  • Evidence of working within multiple sites
  • The post holder will have an ability to communicate and co-ordinate tasks effectively.
  • NVQ level 3 in electrical engineering or equivariant
  • 18th Edition or the IEE Wiring Regulations.
  • Completion of a structured training programme in Electrical Engineering for a minimum of 3 years.
