- Registered Nurse (RN1) with Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) of UK
- Degree or equivalent in relevant field of study
- Intravenous accreditation
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Prep for mentorship course or equivalent
- Evidence of professional development e.g. Acute care skills training
- Previous experience in an acute setting post qualification.
- Experience in caring for level 2/3 patients in critical care/high dependency setting or other acute setting.
- Capable of effectively managing and organising tasks in a dynamic and fast-paced setting
- Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on precision and attention to detail.
- Demonstrates the ability to maintain composure and handle high-stress situations with ease.
- Exhibits emotional resilience and empathy when interacting with patients and their families.
- Skilled in utilising IT and clinical information systems for care coordination and documentation
- Demonstrates adept critical thinking abilities and prioritises patient care based on urgency
- Displays effective interpersonal skills and collaborates well within a team, fostering a conducive environment for teaching and receiving feedback.
- Shows evidence of contributing to ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
- Proficient in utilising and interpreting advanced monitoring equipment
- Capable of assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care programs
- Competent in providing basic life support
- Able to administer prescribed medications, including blood transfusions
- Capable of supervising and instructing junior or unqualified staff members
- Possesses an understanding of Audit and Research-Based Nursing Practice
- Interpretation of arterial blood gas analysis
- Experience working with advanced cardiac monitoring
- Proficient IT skills
- Full understanding of the NMC The Code: professional standards (2015) and revalidation process to maintain professional registration
- Knowledge of assessment, planning and evaluating patient care according to the needs of the individual
