- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or a recognised teaching qualification
- Right to work in the UK
- Prior experience working with students aged 11-16
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Strong behaviour and classroom management
- Confident and clear communication
- Ability to quickly adapt to different subject content and classroom settings
- Resilience and flexibility under pressure
- A calm and professional approach
- Skilled at building relationships with students and staff
- High level of organisation and punctuality
- Deliver pre-planned lessons in a range of subjects across KS3 and KS4
- Keep students focused, motivated, and engaged in the absence of their regular teacher
- Uphold the school's behaviour and safeguarding policies
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet a variety of learning needs
- Support student progress through effective classroom supervision
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment
- Deal with any behaviour issues promptly and fairly
- Liaise with department heads and pastoral staff where necessary
- Report safeguarding or well-being concerns appropriately
- Encourage enthusiasm and effort in every lesson
