This role is for an Interim Head of Information Governance in the legal department of a London based not-for-profit organisation. The position requires someone with a strong understanding of data protection laws and information governance, ideally within a similar sector.The Interim Head of Information Governance will report directly into the General Counsel and be responsible for leading a team of one and:
  • Overseeing all aspects of information governance within the organisation.
  • Implementing and maintaining data protection policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with GDPR and other relevant data protection laws.
  • Providing training and advice to staff on data protection matters.
  • Handling all data breaches and information requests.
  • Working with senior management to develop a robust information governance strategy.
  • Conducting regular audits to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Managing of the one direct report.
Interim Head of Information Governance|Maternity CoverA successful Interim Head of Information Governance should have:
  • A degree in law, information management, or a related field.
  • Experience in a similar role within the not-for-profit sector.
  • Strong knowledge of the relevant regulatory frameworks governing IG including:
  • The Freedom of Information Act 2000
  • The Data Protection Act 2018
  • The Public Records Act 1958
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts in simple terms.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to manage a team and work with senior management.
