- Develop and implement individualized learning plans in collaboration with the SENCO and classroom teacher, focusing on the specific needs and goals of the student.
- Provide one-on-one support to the student during class activities, ensuring they are fully engaged and able to participate to the best of their ability.
- Adapt teaching materials and resources to suit the student's learning style and preferences, promoting inclusivity and accessibility in the classroom.
- Monitor the student's progress closely, tracking their achievements and identifying areas for further development or intervention as needed.
- Foster a positive and nurturing relationship with the student, building trust and confidence to support their overall well-being and academic success.
- Previous experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, preferably with experience supporting students in Year 4 or a similar age group.
- Understanding of different learning needs and strategies for supporting students with a range of special educational needs and disabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience in working with students who may face challenges or barriers to learning.
- Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the individual needs and preferences of the student, adjusting support strategies as necessary.
