
Locum Consultant Interventional Cardiology & Structural

- Full registration with the GMC/eligible for registration
- MRCP (UK) or equivalent
- Higher degree e.g. PhD/ MD submitted/awarded (copy to be brought to the interview)
- A professional qualification in medical education
- Fully trained in general cardiology, cardiac interventional procedures
- Fully trained in TAVI and experienced in structural heart intervention procedures
- Experience in intervention for congenital heart disease, mitral tricuspid interventions, PFO, ASD
- All aspects of interventional, preventative and general cardiology
- Ability to undertake and direct audit with demonstrable understanding of the impact and challenges this brings
- Good IT skills, use of patient and hospital databases
- Willingness to undertake additional professional responsibilities at local, regional or national level.
- Evidence of innovative approaches to healthcare
- Evidence of leadership of and involvement with clinical governance
- Demonstrates a commitment to the highest ethical and professional values and a belief in government funded healthcare
- Evidence of extensive involvement with research (clinical, translational or basic science) and the ability to describe and discuss the impact of findings
- Track record of publications in peerreviewed journals and presentations at national and international scientific meetings
- Knowledge of research ethics and grant applications
- Experience of setting up collaborative multicentre research projects
- First and last name authorship in publications relevant to this post
- Ability to communicate with clarity and intelligently in written and spoken English
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work within an MDT.
