Lecturer in Computing and ICTHarrow on the HillFull time / permanent£32,455 - £45,260The Computing and IT team at the College provides our learners with the knowledge and skills required by the computing industry. We provide an excellent foundation for our learners to progress to the next level including careers in the IT, apprenticeships and Higher Education.We are seeking a full time Lecturer to deliver across a range of Computing courses, from Level 1 to Level 5, including delivery of T Level qualifications.You will possess a degree in a Computing subject, together with some teaching experience. You will need to have knowledge and experience of at least two of the following areas:
  • Computer Games Development
  • Website Designing & Development
  • Graphic Designing (Adobe Animate and After Effects
  • Animation (Adobe Animate and After Effects)
You should have good communication and interpersonal skills and be able to engage young learners aged 16-19. If you do not currently possess an advanced level teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector, you will be supported to obtain one, supported financially in full by the College.Design and Delivery of Programmes· Teach across a variety of Computing and ICT programmes from Level 1 to Level 5.· Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans and resource materials for teaching programmes.· Utilise IT and learning technology to deliver elements of the curriculum.· Prepare assessment plans and schedules and ensure students are aware of your expectations.· Assess students' progress regularly including the timely marking of work and giving feedback, both written and oral.· To ensure that students attend and achieve on all areas of their study programmes including maths, English and work experience.Qualifications:· Degree in Computing or related subject area· GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or equivalent, or willing to achieve· Minimum Level 5 teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector (e.g. PGCE, DET**) or willingness and ability to obtain a Level 5 teaching qualification, supported by the CollegeKnowledge and Experience:· Knowledge and experience of at least two of the following areas:o Computer Games Developmento Website Designing & Developmento Graphic Designing (Adobe Animate and After Effects)o Animation (Adobe Animate and After Effects)· Teaching experience in the relevant subject area· Teaching experience in delivering or exposure to T-Levels in Digital Business Services, or a willingness to participate in continued professional development to upskill in order to be able to teach T Levels· Up to date knowledge of recent initiatives/developments in Computing and ITWe are dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment.
