Job Title: Quantity SurveyorLocation: Faslane, HelensburghCompensation: £42,000 - £48,000 based on experience.Role Type: Full time / Permanent, 4 day working week.Role ID: SF65453At Babcock we're working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Quantity Surveyor at our Faslane site.The roleAs a Quantity Surveyor, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will support the Senior Quantity Surveyor in delivery of task objectives, building the facility of a dedicated QS team within Naval Base Projects Division.Day-to-day, you will develop contractual standards and processes within the team in line with business needs on a whole life contractual and costing basis. Responsibilities include:
  • Constantly challenging tendering and procedure strategy to maximise and improve business performance.
  • Controlling and measuring cost and quality performance with Project Officers to ensure service levels are in line with business objectives.
  • Developing and providing estimates for cost and feasibility studies.
  • Ensuring that appropriate use is made of the company's IT capabilities to maximise efficiency.
  • Implementing continuous improvement and best practice and contribute to business initiatives in accordance with the Operational, Technical and Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
  • Measuring, valuing, negotiating and agreeing valuations and final accounts to the maximum benefit of the company. Investigating and resolving contractual issues and disputes.
This role is 4 days per week, you will work 36 hours with hybrid working arrangements.Essential experience of the Quantity Surveyor
  • You must have experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
