Job Title: Qualified Geography TeacherLocation: East of England, Essex, Southend-on-SeaJob Type: Permanent, expected to work Full-Time hoursPrimary Industry: Education and TrainingSalary: £31,650 - £43,607 Per annumJob Duties:The Qualified Geography Teacher will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering engaging geography lessons to students. They will use a variety of teaching methods to ensure effective learning, assess student progress, and provide feedback to support their development. The teacher will also create a positive and inclusive learning environment, manage classroom behaviour, and communicate effectively with parents and colleagues.Required Qualifications:- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)- Degree in Geography or related field- Knowledge of the National Curriculum for Geography- Experience teaching geography at the secondary levelEducation:A degree in Geography or a related field is required. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is also essential for this role.Experience:Previous experience teaching geography at the secondary level is necessary for this position.Knowledge and Skills:- Strong understanding of geography concepts and principles- Ability to engage and motivate students- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills- Effective classroom management abilitiesPreferred Qualifications:- Postgraduate qualification in Education- Additional training in special educational needs (SEN) or behaviour managementWorking Conditions:The Qualified Geography Teacher will work in a school setting, following the academic calendar. They may be required to participate in extracurricular activities, parent meetings, and professional development sessions.
