This is a hands-on role involving the manufacture of GRP products-primarily slides for playground equipment-crafted from start to finish. If you have previous experience with fibreglass and are confident using hand tools, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.The successful GRP fibreglass operative will be responsible for multiple stages of the manufacturing process, from mould preparation to polishing and packing finished products.Main duties:
  • Make GRP products from start to finish (mainly playground slides)
  • Prepare new and refurbished moulds (minor prep included)
  • Conduct gel processing and tint colour mixing
  • Trim and sand components
  • Apply chemical coatings
  • Polish and pack finished products
  • Operate various machinery
  • Interpret drawings for dimensions, cut-outs, and orientation
  • Work independently and follow work plans precisely
  • Continuously seek to improve product quality
Competencies and skill set:
  • Solid understanding of materials and processes used in GRP manufacturing
  • At least 18 months of fibreglass experience - essential
  • Safe use of manual and battery-operated hand tools
  • Excellent attention to detail with defect detection
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organised workspace
  • Correct use of PPE
  • Physically able to perform manual handling duties (training provided)
