Role Title: Technical Specialist (Oracle Cloud @ Customer)Contract duration:12 months
Location: Sheffield (Onsite)Required Core Skills:
-Expert in Oracle database, including RAC, Dataguard, Exadata
-Experience of Oracle on premises database cloud offering (CloudCustomer).
-Experience in building applications on the public cloud.Nice to have skills:
-Understanding of ITIL and ITSM frameworks
-Experience with change management processes and tools (preferably ServiceNow)Minimum years of experience: 10Detailed Job Description:An experienced technical specialist to work in the Oracle Product Engineering team. A strong understanding of Oracle database is essential. The team is involved in producing product and platform support and automation rather than day to day administration, requiring a range of complementary skills. A track record of flexibility to learn and understand how it is integrated with other technologies and leverage support from other members of the team is essential to succeed.Requirements:-Expert in Oracle database, including RAC, Dataguard, Exadata
-Experience of Oracle on premises database cloud offering (Cloud@Customer).
-Experience in building applications on the public cloud.
-Other ideal API relevant technologies: K8, Docker, Hashi Vault, YAML, JSON, Postman, Nexus, Sonercube, Cucumber
-GoldenGate knowledge
-Knowledge of API integration and frameworks
-Shell scripting, Python, Ansible, CICD Pipelines, GIT, Jenkins, Splunk
-Build and configuration of Oracle as PaaS, including database related automation.
-Linux competency – primarily RHEL, with some OEL
-An awareness of wider public cloud offerings to inform mindset.
-Understanding of High Availability setup, replication and DR Planning
-Effective communication and ability to work collaboratively across teams/regions/cultures.
-Understanding of agile team methodologies including Scrum, Kanban and using JIRA and Confluence.
-Experience of working for a large organisation where priorities can change quickly. Ideally a financial company subject to some associated regulatory responsibilities.
-Creating and maintaining documentation.
