Deputy Rail ManagerDepartment: Operations and MaintenanceEmployment Type: Permanent - Full TimeLocation: Hope Cement Works, DerbyshireReporting To: Josh Van TineDescriptionWe are currently seeking a Deputy Rail Manager at our Hope Cement Works in Derbyshire. The rail team play a key role in our cement distribution through our rail network.The purpose of this position is to support the Rail Manager to effectively manage the rail operations which would include filling and loading and track maintenance.Key Requirements
  • Full and up to date certification for locomotive operation to Network Rail standards
  • Thorough understanding of the competency requirements for locomotive drivers and rail group standard rule books
  • Experience of controlling safety within rail infrastructure including management of contractors
  • Knowledge and understanding of rail track inspection / maintenance programs
  • Excellent analytical skills with proven strength in understanding complex business processes and problems
  • Sound understanding of business management systems including relevant Standards e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 9001 & ISO 45001
  • A proven ability to act with diplomacy and fairness
  • Highly organised and driven with the ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
