- Developing and implementing AI governance frameworks, including policies, standards, and ethical guidelines to ensure responsible and transparent AI adoption.
- Advising on regulatory and compliance considerations for AI, including data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and emerging AI-specific regulations.
- Crafting the business case for AI governance initiatives, defining clear strategic roadmaps to operationalise AI governance at scale.
- Running, structuring, and facilitating interviews and workshops to identify client pain points, risks, and governance challenges, linking these to AI capabilities (e.g., ethical AI, bias mitigation, and transparency).
- Reviewing existing or proposed client governance frameworks and providing recommendations to improve their effectiveness and compliance.
- Managing and running proposition offerings, in partnership with the Capability, Data Practice and Domain Leads and supporting the ongoing success of our AI go to market strategy.
- Ensuring responsible development of AI products by providing support and guidance to our AI development team
- Leading both internal and external demos of our AI solutions, and providing high-level technical guidance as required.
- Defining internal and external-facing thought leadership on responsible AI, governance frameworks, and regulatory trends.
- Developing methodologies and accelerators to enhance the delivery of AI governance frameworks.
- At least 5 years in data science modelling, AI strategy, governance, or related fields such as data strategy, digital transformation, or technology risk management.
- Ability to translate technical AI and regulatory insights into actionable outcomes and facilitate informed discussions with clients or internal stakeholders.
- Deep knowledge of data science, AI principles, governance, and lifecycle management, or the ability to adapt expertise from related areas (e.g., data management, compliance, analytics)
- Proven ability to assess organisational readiness for AI, deliver actionable recommendations, and develop frameworks, policies, or standards focused on ethics, transparency, and compliance.
- Familiarity with AI-related regulatory and ethical considerations, including bias mitigation, transparency, accountability, and data privacy (e.g., GDPR, AI Act).
- Strong analytical skills to assess risks, identify gaps, and design structured solutions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for managing diverse stakeholders across technical, legal, and business teams to drive alignment and results.
- Exceptional ability to present and adapt complex technical and regulatory concepts to varied audiences.
- A minimum of 5 years' consulting experience at a top-tier consultancy or a similar internal change / transformation role within a Financial Services organisation
- Hands-on experience in implementing AI initiatives with a focus on data protection and governance in regulated environments.
- A strong foundation in Financial Services (e.g., banking, insurance, investment management) or a similar regulated industry e.g. healthcare
- Familiarity with AI platforms, tools, or methodologies (e.g., Azure AI, AWS SageMaker, TensorFlow), or experience collaborating with technical teams deploying AI solutions.
- Knowledge of governance or risk frameworks (e.g., NIST AI RMF, ISO 38507) and their application to emerging technologies.
- Awareness of issues like algorithmic bias, explainability, and societal impacts associated with AI adoption.
- Understanding of transferable frameworks used in AI governance, such as those in data management (e.g., DAMA DMBOK) or compliance functions.
- Credentials in Applied AI, Responsible AI, AI Ethics, Risk Management, or Data Governance.
