Job Category: CateringJob Description:SHIFTS YOU ARE APPLYING FOR : Monday - Friday 6:45am - 2:30pmAbout the Role:At Next we have a great opportunity for a Chef to join our busy catering team at our Head Office in Leicestershire. The Chef will work in a busy kitchen producing high quality food using fresh produce daily catering for 1200 covers. You will work as part of a team with a brigade of 7 chefs and also under your own initiative.You will:
  • Ensure that all food is produced within EHO food safety guidelines
  • Ensure the menu is produced to a high standard on time for service.
  • Participate in a positive approach to health & safety.
  • Use stock in rotation; report any quality issues to the Head chef.
  • Maintain cleanliness of your work area & complete cleaning rotas at the end of each shift
  • Be flexible when the kitchen is under increased pressure.
  • Able to work on multi stations on a rota basis.
  • Bring new ideas and passion and creative flair to the food production.
  • Follow all recipes and adhere to allergen control at all times.
  • Keep up to date with changing food trends.
  • Communicate relevant information to colleagues and customers.
  • Communicate easily & appropriately to managers.
About You:
  • Hold a recognised catering qualification e.g City & Guilds, NVQ or relevant work experience
  • Hold a food hygiene certificate
  • Proven experience of working in the food industry
  • Minimum of 2 years catering experience
  • Pro-active and self-motivated
  • Ability to use initiative
  • Calm under pressure
  • Excellent organisational and time keeping skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work on own initiative as necessary
  • Able to keep accurate records
