- be responsible for supporting the LNG trading & operations teams, providing timely market information on market trends, prices and sentiment.
- As part of a global chartering team, develop the inhouse view on forward rates and propose trade ideas to capture value from this view
- Demonstrate a commitment to JERAGM's compliance culture, ensuring that trading business complies with the company policies and authorities, and report any disfunction to the Team Leader.
- Develop a deep understanding of the LNG trading portfolio, working closely with the trading and scheduling teams to optimise the schedule and increase value creation.
- Manage long-term Time Charter Parties with the shareholders and other stake holders in the Atlantic zone.
- Prepare weekly freight market reports, vessel open position list and opportunities list.
- Mark forward freight curves and provide freight cost estimates for trading deal evaluation.
- Participate to the quarterly JERAGMs chartering and shipping outlook presentations in order to assist developing the shipping strategy in support to the trading strategy.
- Provide market access for the trading team, scheduling team and shareholders to help monetise trading strategies.
- Identify opportunities, negotiate terms and execute spot / mid-term charters, working with internal functions to finalise Time Charter Party contracts.
- Ensure chartering and marine assurance processes are followed, and all necessary approvals are in place prior to lifting subjects.
- Record deals in dedicated tools and maintain internal reporting.
- Work with the LNG freight operations teams to resolve contractual issues.
- Network and build strong business relationships with commercial partners and other market participants whilst enforcing the JERAGM brand.
- Function as a team player and foster a collaborative and open working environment across the LNG business and other functions of JERAGM.
- Develop shipping carbon regulations knowledge and evaluate risk of new environmental constraints on Shipping.
- Develop an understanding of FFA markets
- 5+ years of relevant chartering and freight market experience
- Possess university degree or higher
- Demonstrable track record of adding P&L to an LNG portfolio through chartering activity
- Strong knowledge of the LNG freight market fundamentals and proven commercial awareness of LNG
- Analytical and meticulous organisation skills with the ability to manage pressing priorities
- Familiarity with shipping platforms (Platts, Sparks, Baltic)
- Highly focused on bottom line profitability
- Able to perform under time pressure
- Good analytical capabilities
- Confident with good interpersonal skills and able to work well in a diverse multinational global team environment
- Able to manage client relationships and build trust
