Reporting line: Staff Chief EngineerDirect reports: NoneDepartment: EngineQualifications: as per C601D (Marella Cruises) Training & Certification MatrixKey ResponsibilitiesIn addition to those normal duties as outlined in the V.Ships VMS:· Keeping scheduled watches in the ECR (engine control room) and working in engine room· Reporting any machinery defects affecting safe and environmentally sound vessel operation· Ensuring all engine room safety equipment is in optimal condition· Conducting proactive maintenance and repairs· Creating requisitions and performs periodic inventory of spares and consumables related to area of responsibility· Updating the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) with clear records· Being directly in charge of particular groups of equipment, which can include air compressors, boilers, economisers, R.O. plants, evaporators, purifiers, and etc· Maintaining the working area clean, safe, and handling tools and equipment with care· Participating in emergency drills and responding to actual emergencies as per the Muster List· Adhering to all safety regulations and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during work activities· Adhering to and complying with all Company Policies and Procedures, Manuals and Directives· Performing duties and tasks according to above but not limited to that.Additional responsibilities:· Attend passenger social events as directed by the Head of Department.· Partake in inspections, trainings and meetings as directed by the Head of Department.· Other shipboard tasks pertaining to departmental operations as directed by Head of Department.· Attending trainings and office visits arranged by V.Ships Leisure where possible
