- Take a proactive lead in the day-to-day operational management of all UEC services acting as the designated operational bronze for the directorate, resolving internal and external barriers to patient flow, with appropriate escalation
- Use the highest degree of motivational and negotiating skills, ensure an atmosphere of collaboration across the service area to deliver a programme of continuous improvement in a challenging and demanding environment.
- To work closely with the Clinical Lead and Matron in a triumvirate approach supporting service delivery and cascade and escalate of information enabling the delivery of the Trusts strategy and objectives.
- Challenge internal and external parties where necessary to overcome barriers to change and understanding and to ensure that learning is shared and that risks are mitigated and reduced

- Experience of managing people
- Experience of IT systems
- Experience of training and coaching staff
- Project Management Qualification
- Knowledge of NHS national targets including RTT and elective pathways
- Experiencing managing rotas and complex schedules
- Presentational skills: To interpret complex information and take appropriate action and provide expert advice as a result.
- To interpret trends in complex occurrences or complaints and take appropriate action and/or seek expert advice from appropriate sources:
- To plan and prioritise own and facilitate the management teams work:
- To identify and plan own professional development needs

- Ability to think and plan strategically, tactically and creatively and to prioritise work programmes in the face of completing demands
- Knowledge and experience in the use of human resource policy and procedure
- Works on own initiative within Trust policies, referring to management for guidance when required
- Evidence of having championed diversity in previous roles (as appropriate to role).
- Evidence of having undertaken own development to improve understanding of equalities issues
