• Lead and supervise the shift team, ensuring all personnel adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies at all times.
• Organise and allocate daily tasks to team members to meet production targets and operational deadlines.
• Monitor site operations including sorting, processing, loading, and unloading of recyclable materials to ensure efficiency and compliance.
• Conduct pre-shift briefings and safety toolbox talks to communicate key priorities and reinforce safety standards.
• Oversee equipment operation and maintenance activities during the shift, coordinating with maintenance teams to minimise downtime.
• Ensure accurate documentation of materials processed, shift reports, and incident logs are completed promptly and accurately.
• Manage waste segregation procedures to maintain compliance with environmental regulations and company standards.

• IT Skills
• Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse shift team.
• Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to recycling and waste management.
• Excellent organisational skills to effectively plan and allocate shift tasks and manage workflow.
• Ability to communicate clearly and confidently, both verbally and in writing, with team members and management.
• Experience in monitoring and improving operational processes to meet performance targets and KPIs.
• Competence in incident reporting, documentation, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Problem-solving skills with the ability to respond quickly and effectively to operational challenges or emergencies.
• Forklift license

• Certification or training in health and safety, such as IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH.
• Experience with forklift or plant machinery operation and associated safety certifications.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Familiarity with environmental compliance standards and reporting requirements.
