- Lead the successful delivery of multi-disciplinary Transmission, Distribution and Power Systems projects.
- Client-side project management, including stakeholder, H&S, risk, quality, schedule, and contract management
- Ensure projects and commissions are delivered to the satisfaction of the client for quality, cost, and time
- Support and manage the project team ensuring appropriate resources are provided on projects, meeting the client and business requirements
- Actively manage subcontractors and resources remote from the core project team
- Develop strong relationships with clients and members of the cross-functional team
- Support business development opportunities with existing and new clients
- Experience of working within a client organisation, either directly or through a co-location/secondment arrangement.
- Practitioner of NEC suite of contracts, particularly the Professional Services Contract (PSC) and Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC)
- Experience of working as part of integrated, multi-organisation, collaborative teams
- Infrastructure and project management experience, delivering complex projects
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Highly motivated and with excellent industry network
- Relationship building skills -ability to build strong relationships with clients, teams, and stakeholders as well as an ability to build and maintain networks of business contacts.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

- Experience of working with NGET business processes, supplier requirements, national development process 500.
- Experience of working on projects in Substations, Over Head Lines, and Cables 33kV - 400kV with DNO or TO.
- Understanding of the UK Transmission and Distribution System along with associated plan and equipment.
- Good understanding of CDM regulations.
- Project Management Proficiency: Familiarity with project management principles and methodologies, including planning, scheduling, communication, teamwork, resource management, and risk management.
- Professional Development: Engagement in continuous professional development, including pursuing qualifications such as those offered by the Association for Project Management (APM) and other recognised bodies.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to effectively communicate and engage with various stakeholders, including internal teams, contractors, and the public, to ensure project alignment and address concerns.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of technical aspects related to electricity transmission and distribution, including infrastructure development and operational requirements.
- Safety and Compliance: Commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards, ensuring that all project activities comply with relevant regulations and best practices.
- Financial Acumen: Skills in budget management and financial oversight to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Leadership and Team Development: Capability to lead project teams, fostering a collaborative environment and supporting team members' professional growth.
- Adaptability and Problem-Solving: Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and solve complex problems that may arise during project execution.
- Strategic Thinking: Understanding of the broader strategic goals of National Grid and how individual projects contribute to these objectives
- Minimum of two years' project management experience
- A project management qualification such as PRINCE2 or APM
- A relevant degree such as in engineering, environmental science, construction, or relevant subject
- Strong history in both contract (NEC3 and 4) and project management.
