This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and educate students in a supportive and dynamic environment.The Role:As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting pupils across the whole primary age range at a critical stage in their educational and emotional development. You will deliver engaging, creative and well-structured lessons that nurture curiosity, promote social development, and build strong foundations in literacy and numeracy.We are currently seeking dedicated, adaptable, and highly resilient SEN Teaching Assistants to work across a range of mainstream and specialist schools. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with a variety of special educational needs, including GDD ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and PMLD.Key Responsibilities:
  • Support pupils with a range of SEN needs including Global Delay Development on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Implement EHCP targets under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO
  • Use initiative to manage classroom behaviour and adapt resources to meet individual needs
  • Adapt and implement activities aligned with pupils individual Educational plans(IEPs)
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, external professionals, and families
  • Promote inclusion and support the social and emotional development of all pupils
  • Create a warm, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes learning and development.
  • Foster positive relationships with pupils, parents, and carers, ensuring effective home–school communication.
  • Contribute to school life and extracurricular activities, supporting pupils’ social and emotional growth.
  • Work collaboratively with other teaching assistants and school staff to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
  • Work across the school when needed
Minimum Requirements:To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following minimum criteria:
  • SEN experience
  • Experience of working with children with Global Delay Development
  • A relevant qualification (NVQs or BTECs.).
  • Experience within a primary classroom setting (1+ year preferred).
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of SEN & Behavioural needs
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • A passion for inspiring young learners and supporting their development
Essential Requirements:
  • Extensive experience working with children and young people with a broad range of SEN
  • Experience of supporting children with Global Delay Develop
