- Provide one-to-one support to students with special educational needs (SEN) or disabilities, both inside and outside the classroom.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and strategies outlined in Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to adapt learning materials and activities to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their confidence, independence, and social skills.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).
- Support students during transitions between lessons and activities, ensuring a smooth and inclusive learning experience.
- Encourage inclusive practices and promote a culture of respect and understanding among students.
- Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEN or disabilities, is desirable but not essential.
- A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
- A genuine passion for education and a commitment to promoting inclusive practices.
- Minimum of GCSE qualifications in English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
