- Preparation and design of management accounts
- Preparation of design of board packs alongside co-founders
- Working closely with the founders and Exec team on data and analytics and how that supports decision-making across the business
- Short-term cash flow forecasting (13-week rolling tactical cashflow)
- 2-year monthly forecast model - including running scenarios
- 5-year yearly forecast model
- Financial controls in place to make sure, including coordinating with Ops teams on collections
- Payroll
- Support the annual Audit process
- End-of-year submissions
- Preparation of materials to support fundraising and involvement in pitching as required
- Recommendations to increase the profitability of the business to commercial stakeholders within the team
- Ownership and delivery of accounting processes that support the Management of Accounting
- Point of contact for external accountants
- Reconciliations, including demonstrating a strong understanding of the makeup of the balance sheet
- VAT returns
- HMRC / Companies House submissions, including those for share options schemes
- Pension administration
- Oversight of the Cap Table and management of insurance policies
- 4-5 years of business and finance experience, ideally with some audit background
- Preferably with experience from one of the UKs Top 30 Accountancy Firms
- Chartered accountant
- Experience managing a small finance team
- Ability to interact with the board and investors
- Has worked within a start-up or scale-up environment
- Ideally working at a head of finance level, financial controller, or as a senior finance manager
- Articulate and commercially astute
- A passion for technology innovation and driven by new ideas
- Previous knowledge or experience working within the property, architecture, or construction sectors
- An interest in architecture/home improvement
- An understanding of the lifecycle of a house extension project - maybe you have renovated your own home?
