- Assisting in the full range of dental care provided to patients, from supporting with routine examinations to advanced specialist treatments.
- Welcoming patients and reassuring them of the treatments.
- Providing chair support whilst patients receive treatments, responding quickly to requests.
- Assisting with all aspects of patient dental care and treatment including check-ups to fillings, x-rays to sterilising tools.
- Preparing and mixing dental materials.
- Maintaining and updating patient records.
- Stock control.
- Reassuring patients, responding to individual patient needs.
- Undertaking reception duties when required e.g., greeting service users, answering the telephone, making appointments, explaining service user charges and collecting service user charges.
- Liaising with the dental team, senior leaders and wider colleagues to maintain the effective running of the dental service.
- Existing and stable list of patients.
- Computerised (R4) systems with digital x-rays.
- A dental practice with two fully equipped surgeries.
- Alongside general dentistry, the practice offers cosmetic dentistry and implants.
- Assistance from dental hygiene staff.
- Free parking facilities are available.
- Commutable from Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft, Dereham, and North Walsham.
- National diploma in Dental Nursing Level 3 or equivalent.
- Valid GDC registration.
- Certificate for the examination in the care of the service user by the awarding body, the National Examination Board for Dental Nurses (NEBDN).
- Certificate in Dental Radiography, Sedation, Oral Health Promotion, Special Care.
- NEBDN Oral Health Certificate in Oral Health Education (or equivalent) OR Certificate in Extended duties Dental Nursing.
- Previous experience as a dental nurse.
- Friendly, reliable, understanding individual.
- National diploma in Dental Nursing Level 3 or equivalent.
- Valid GDC registration.
- Certificate for the examination in the care of the service user by the awarding body, the National Examination Board for Dental Nurses (NEBDN).
