Witard Dental Practice based in Norwich are looking for a dental nurse to join their busy practice on a part-time basis for 3 days a week.The primary responsibility of the role will be to provide clinical support for a wide range of treatments across a broad client base, working alongside highly experienced dental clinicians, therapists, nurses and receptionists.Main duties of the job
  • Assisting in the full range of dental care provided to patients, from supporting with routine examinations to advanced specialist treatments.
  • Welcoming patients and reassuring them of the treatments.
  • Providing chair support whilst patients receive treatments, responding quickly to requests.
  • Assisting with all aspects of patient dental care and treatment including check-ups to fillings, x-rays to sterilising tools.
  • Preparing and mixing dental materials.
  • Maintaining and updating patient records.
  • Stock control.
  • Reassuring patients, responding to individual patient needs.
  • Undertaking reception duties when required e.g., greeting service users, answering the telephone, making appointments, explaining service user charges and collecting service user charges.
  • Liaising with the dental team, senior leaders and wider colleagues to maintain the effective running of the dental service.

  • Valid GDC registration.
Desirable
  • Certificate for the examination in the care of the service user by the awarding body, the National Examination Board for Dental Nurses (NEBDN).
  • Certificate in Dental Radiography, Sedation, Oral Health Promotion, Special Care.
  • NEBDN Oral Health Certificate in Oral Health Education (or equivalent) OR Certificate in Extended duties Dental Nursing.
ExperienceEssential
  • Previous experience as a dental nurse.
  • Friendly, reliable, understanding individual.
