Considering a future career in education, special needs support, or pastoral care?An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed and enthusiastic individual to join a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Stockport as a Trainee Teaching Assistant from September 2025.This role offers hands-on experience in the classroom and is ideal for graduates or aspiring teachers, educational psychologists, or youth workers who want to build valuable school-based experience.What You’ll Be Doing:Supporting teachers with the delivery of engaging lessons across a variety of subjectsWorking 1:1 or with small groups of students who need extra supportAssisting in the preparation of classroom materials and displaysMonitoring student progress and behaviour to help create a safe, supportive learning environmentBuilding strong relationships with students, staff, and familiesTaking part in regular training, mentoring, and development sessionsWhat We’re Looking For:An energetic, empathetic, and proactive individual who’s passionate about helping young people achieve their potentialA confident communicator who works well within a teamSomeone who’s reliable, punctual, and open to learning and feedbackDesirable (but not essential):Previous experience working or volunteering with children or young peopleAn interest in a long-term career in education, SEND, or youth workGCSEs (or equivalent) in English and MathsWhat You’ll Gain:Real classroom experience with ongoing guidance and feedbackAccess to CPD (Continuing Professional Development) and shadowing opportunitiesClear progression routes into teacher training or permanent support
