We are looking for a School Business Manager to manage and oversee the school’s non teaching operations. The successful candidate will be efficient, proactive and have excellent organisational skills. You will play a pivotal role in the leadership team, overseeing the school's financial management, HR, premises, and administrative functions. You will ensure the smooth and efficient running of the school's operations, enabling our staff and students to thrive. Whether you are already an experienced School Business Manager seeking a fresh and rewarding challenge, or you bring strong transferrable skills and are ready to embark on this career path, this is a unique opportunity to make a real impact.You will work 36 hours per week, 41 weeks per year (term time plus 2 weeks)Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead on financial planning, budgeting, and reporting
  • Manage HR processes including recruitment, payroll, and staff wellbeing
  • Oversee premises management, health & safety, and compliance
  • Line manage administrative and non classroom based support staff
  • Work closely with the Headteacher and Governing Body to support strategic planning

About you:The successful candidate should –
  • Have a strong background in financial management, and ideally hold a recognised accounting qualification (eg ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA)
  • Have a proven track record of interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Be highly organised, reliable and have excellent time management skills
  • Be self-motivated and able to use initiative
  • Have excellent communication and ICT skills
  • Be able to work well under pressure and to a high level of accuracy
  • Ideally have experience of working in a similar role in a school setting
