Estimator

• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for both new build and refurbishment social housing projects.
• Analyse project plans, specifications, and documentation to determine material, labour, and subcontractor costs.
• Conduct quantity take-offs and compare subcontractor quotes to ensure best value.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market prices and supplier rates.
• Submit high-quality, professional tenders on time.
• Develop schedule of rates and identify potential cost-saving measures.

• Support the Mainworks Team, site managers, and attend project meetings.
• Liaise with clients, architects, M&E engineers, and subcontractors to gather project-specific data.
• Collaborate across departments and support the Quality Manager with PQQs and new business opportunities.
• Keep organised records of estimates, tenders, and project data.
• Provide regular reports to directors and conduct post-project cost analysis.
• Contribute to expanding the subcontractor supply chain.

• Experience in social housing (both new build and refurbishment).
• Proven estimating experience within the construction industry.
• Qualification in Construction or related field (HNC, Diploma, Degree).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and M&E drawings.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently.

• Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
• Location: Rhoose, CF62 3BZ (postcode and location not exact)
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts (no weekends)
• Salary: £55,000-£60,000 per year, dependent on experience
